British Farming Awards is back for 2022

The British Farming Awards reaches a significant milestone this year following its launch 10 years ago and entries for 2022 are now open from today.

The British Farming Awards is back for 2022 鈥 bigger, better and ready to take 2022 by storm, 10 years since its launch.

Over the years the much-loved event, which is sponsored by Morrisons, has continued to go from strength to strength.

Boasting a new move to The Vox, Birmingham鈥檚 state of the art events venue, and a refreshed selection of awards up for grabs, British farmers will once again be recognised for their commitment and innovation to an industry, which consistently serves the nation.

Sponsored by Morrisons, the flagship event makes a welcome return as trust and confidence in British farmers from consumers continues to soar.

Alongside farming鈥檚 core sectors 鈥 dairy, beef, sheep, arable and machinery 鈥 there is also recognition in other valued groups such as family farms, students, new entrants, agri-tech and the huge number of farm diversifications, which are now so crucial to many businesses.

Recognition

New for this year is the introduction of Grassland Farmer of the Year as we highlight the increasing efforts of farmers pushing the boundaries within their grazing systems and maximising their potential.

The awards also welcome nominations of businesses which have introduced positive changes whether that be embracing technology, streamlining production and efficiency, educating the public about food provenance or revamping their business models to tackle the gargantuan impact of Covid-19.

Sophie Throup, Head of Agriculture, Fisheries and Sustainable Sourcing, said: 鈥淎s long-term supporters of British farming, we want to thank farmers across the country for the work they continue to do in these challenging times.

鈥淲e want to support the recognition of the effort, care, innovation and skills British farmers put into making and providing food we are all proud of.鈥

Celebration

/

Ben Briggs, Editor of 草榴社区 Guardian and Group Editor of Agriconnect, said: 鈥淭he British Farming Awards turns 10 years old and what a decade it has been for the event and British agriculture.

鈥淚t has been a seismic decade for the industry and the country as a whole, and throughout it all British farming has kept going, day in and day out, and farmers have worked tirelessly to keep the nation fed, innovate their business and change their farming practices in the face of changing policy deals.

鈥淏y unearthing inspirational stories of farming鈥檚 successes against the odds or those who have simply gone above and beyond, the BFAs takes huge pride in celebrating such achievements.鈥

The closing date for entries is June 24.
