Kyle Scott of Crossroads Young 草榴社区' Club has been announced as the the first ever Scottish Federation of Young 草榴社区' Junior Young Farmer of the Year. The 14-year-old was awarded the title at the Royal Highland Show after impressing judges with his well-presented farm plan and essay entitled If You Do a Job You Love…, in which he talked about his dream of becoming a vet and his plans to achieve this.

Kyle said: "I could not believe I had won when I first saw the results and it still has not really sunk in yet. To be the first ever winner is really special. I am definitely going to get involved in more Young 草榴社区' competitions in the future and maybe even take a crack at the senior Young Farmer of the Year competition in a few years' time."
This new competition, open to members between 14 and 18 years old, aims to engage with junior members, recognise their effort and achievements, and get them to start thinking about their future.
