Rescue teams from Wales said a farm dog which went missing in the mountains of Snowdonia National Park for four days has been found and returned to a grateful farmer.

Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team said the Welsh sheepdog, called Meg, had been reported missing since Tuesday (July 30) after working the high ground of Cwm Cywarch.

After failing to return to the farm, the volunteer led group, which covers South Snowdonia and Mid Wales, had been called in to try and locate her.

Following extensive searches, the team was eventually stood down on Friday (August 2) due to no confirmed sightings of Meg.

However, the investigation was reopened when the team heard barks coming from the National Park's mountains on Saturday morning (August 3).

Meg was finally spotted later that day by a farmer with the use of binoculars.

Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team initiated the start of their recovery mission and found Meg in the mountains.

The team was greeted by a 'hungry and tired' Meg, and she was returned on a quad bike to her grateful owner.

In order to continue its work, Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team need to raise £25,000.
