²ÝÁñÉçÇø Guardian Podcast: Tenant ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Association chief executive picks up Outstanding Contribution to Agriculture at British Farming Awards

Chief executive of Tenant ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Association (TFA) was awarded the most prestigious award of the night at this year's British Farming Awards hosted by the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Guardian in Birmingham, receiving the 'Outstanding Contribution to British Agriculture' award.

George Dunn has worked at the TFA for the last 27 years, campaigning interminably for the tenanted farming sector, giving farmers a voice and ensuring their invaluable contribution to British farming is recognised by both the public and  by Government within political agricultural policies.

George may have met countless Prime Ministers and even the King, but he said the pinnacle of his job is the tenant farmers, who instil trust in him to represent them and support them in whatever challenges they are facing.

He said: "I was gobsmacked to hear I had received this tremendous award. I try every day to make a difference to the members I am involved with and for the sector as a whole. Some days it is hard to keep making sure you keep putting one foot in front of the other. You have the successes and the knockbacks, but it is just unbelievable to receive this recognition."

Our reporter Rachael Brown sat down with George to look back on his career, the highs and lows of the role so far, the future for tenant farmers and what drives him each day.
