DRIVERS on the M1 are being treated to some festive spirit, courtesy of farmer Steven Skepper, who has built this Christmas-themed bale art.

The tree, made from 5ft rounds of straw, is just to the south of Harthill in South Yorkshire, but can be seen on the M1 between junctions 30 and 31, near Woodall Services.

Mr Skepper, from Carr Hill Farm, Sheffield, told ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Guardian it took a couple of hours to build and strap together, then an hour to get the lights on.

It is not for charity, just for my kids and the locals to bring a bit of Christmas cheer, he said.
